Ask Vulnix
The assistant beside every page, which answers questions about Vulnix and your workspace and can make changes once you approve them.
Ask Vulnix is the button in the header of the portal. It opens an assistant beside the page you are on. It is not the pentest agent: that one works on your targets in Chat. The assistant helps you use Vulnix itself.
What it can do
- Answer how-to questions from this documentation. Each answer lists the pages it used, so you can read further.
- Read your workspace: your domains, repositories, pentests, findings, reports, plan and usage. It sees only what your role can see, and nothing outside your workspace.
- Make changes, such as adding a domain, starting a pentest, changing a finding's status, checking a fix or inviting a teammate. It shows you what it is about to do first (see below).
It answers only questions about Vulnix and your workspace, and it replies in the language you write in.
Nothing changes without your approval
Before any change, the assistant shows a card that says what it will do and with which values. Nothing happens until you press Approve. Cancel leaves everything as it was. If the change uses your plan (a pentest, a fix check, a fix pull request) or removes something, the card says so.
Every approved change runs as you, with your role's permissions, and is recorded in your workspace's audit log, so an admin can see what was done and by whom.
On the website and these docs
Visitors who are not signed in have an Ask Vulnix button too, at the bottom right of vulnix.dev and of these docs. It answers from this documentation only: it cannot see any account and changes nothing. For anything the docs do not cover, such as a custom quote, Enterprise or a security questionnaire, it offers to book a demo with the team.
Your conversation
The conversation stays in your browser, per workspace. New conversation clears it. Each person can send up to 60 messages an hour to the assistant; answering a card does not count.
